A Subaru Brat? Lol probably! Heres a pic from HardMVS.

That's exactly like my cab. I dunno if I want a bunch of grubby hands all over my girl though... I also need to get a cam lock for the board access panel. I've got a small magnet holding it closed right now.

After the day I had? Better bring a mountain of cocaine.

Does it have to fit all the way in? I mean...there are workarounds.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Eh, it does look a little wide to fit between the wheel wells, but the bottom part doesn't look too deep. I don't know that I'd want to try anyway. Was just joking.

Speaking of Neo Geo cabinets, I saw one out in the wild today. I was at Billy's on Burnet and saw this corner of arcade machines.

Before anyone gets excited, no, this Neo Geo MVS was not running Metal Slug, KoF, or Samurai Showdown...sorry. It was a World War II Shoot'em Up: Strikers 1945 Plus. A decent game......but somewhat of a letdown, especially after seeing the Neo Geo cabinet from a distance and hurrying to it to see what game was loaded.

The Neo Geo's neighbors were a "Ultracade Multi Game System" and a "Class of 1981 Reunion: Ms. PacMan and Galaga." The "Ultracade" had several versions of SF2 with some joysticks/buttons in decent condition (better shape than Kung Fu Saloon's SF2 machine's controls). The "Ultracade" also had some other Capcom and Taito titles as well (Commando, Ghosts and Goblins, Saturday Night Slam Masters, etc.). Oh, and the Neo Geo had one other neighbor.....a "Golden Tee Complete" machine....yeah, this IS a bar. I think most bars are required to have a "Golden Tee" to maintain a liquor license.

Ah yes, the "Winners Don't Use Drugs" screen. That takes me back to the early 90s. Oh, how that FBI emblem must have put the fear of God into potential drug users' hearts! Haha.

Oh shit! Strikers 1945 Plus? That's actually an awesome find. I'm going to have to stop by this place.

I hate those multicade machines.

Is it the emulation you have a problem with?

Speaking of multi-game arcade machines, in case this is news to anyone, I want to mention that Arcade UFO has an 18-in-1 Capcom machine (game list here). This machine has the badass 1994 beat'em up Alien vs. Predator. So far, this is my favorite arcade beat'em up machine that I can find in Austin.....

Damn, all these awesome finds when I have no money! I haven't played AVP in a cab in almost 15 years! Oh, and I'll bet they have it loaded up with buttery Sanwa goodness. *drool*

And I have a lot of issues with the multicades. The emulation is usually pretty poor. The build quality is usually pretty poor, too. I mean, this can be fixed after the fact, but they are usually left in pretty decrepit shape.

Whoa, look at that! We have 14 votes in with 16 bit and Dreamcast at another tie! "Who will come out on top!?"

...if there's 14 votes, there better be that many attending.

Ooo! 16 bit is on top!

...for now.

Went by Game Over today. They're having an awesome sale - buy a console and get a free game and accessory. I'm tempted to get Genesis II for portability.

Oh, and the giant TV is still out. I'm tempted to send an email to David to ask if it's OK for some of us to meet up there on a Friday night every now and again to game on a self-brought system of our choice.

Haha, I went to the Brodie store today myself. That sale is awesome but I have no more space for consoles in my apartment. I feel left out.
