Post by Video Game Take-Out »

I make a show called Video game Take-Out that focuses on mostly Retro handheld games.
I've been reading the blog/site for a while but I've never ventured into the forums.
I hope you guys like it. :)

Here are my two most recent shows:

Try to get a better mic or add a little more bass to things in your audio editor. Your voice is just coming out a little uncomfortably thin. But anyway, good clips. Thanks for paying attention to the music in those street fighter ports. I agree about Alpha 3 on GBA. It pissed me off how so many reviewers overlook this important and very common flaw in handheld ports.

Oh wow you did one on TMNT2 on GB. I'm surprised you didn't point out that all the characters look and move with absolutely no personality. They're all like empty shells. But otherwise, a good game was a surprisingly good soundtrack.

Thanks everyone. :)

Yeah the mic is a bit cheep, but I'm on a shoestring budget here so it'll have to do. lol

I'm glad you guys liked it and it's improving all the time.
If you watch episode one, it's from about 3 months ago and I think there's a big difference.

I'm working on the new mic situation, because like you said it can make my voice sound a little one dimensional.

Thanks for taking the time to watch.

New episodes every single Monday if you're interested. :)

The Multiplayer in Karnaaj Rally is simply awesome. It was RC ProAM 2 all over again. Granted it was topped by Car Battler Joe for best 4 player car mayhem on the system, but what do I know?

I've never tried Car Battler Joe.
Sounds interesting.

Thanks for watching. :)

Yeah, sorry I guess I did not type out an actual response.

It was a decent show, I will watch the rest when I get a chance. Unlike the vast majority of game reviews on that site yours was actually informative and well thought out. I reviewed handheld games for five years for several websites, most notably would be Portable Review, so when I see a review about a relatively unknown game and the review is good, well I am duly impressed. Apart from a small handful of technical issues and the fact that you seemed to hold onto the boxart issue a bit to long (I know I know), I see this being a very good Monday series. And lets face it, your logo is just cool.

So Monday is Video Game Takeout, Wednesday is Zero Puncuation, anybody have any other weekday series?

Car Battler Joe is simply Twisted Metal meets Pokemon, or if you really want to take it old school, Anime CarWars/Autoduel. The actual story mode is fairly short, six hours max, but just driving around and the multiplayer more than make up for it. The game is fun, launched at $20, and was made by Natsume - there is not alot that can go wrong there.
