How could this be bad? Is it something like buttons being mapped weird, or is it something like response time?noiseredux wrote:I didn't but somebody did (was it Fastbilly?) and told me STAY THE HELL AWAY.

I think this one is sold on Amazon and if I remember right, the reviews were pretty good. The only problem I recall was that the N64 buttons didn't map right on a couple of the buttons.

Its really annoying when they market gamecube adapters as primarily for the wii. That thing is useless for wiiware games that don't support the gcn controller, like mm9/10

Oooh boy, I love controller adapters.Hobie-wan wrote:Has anyone used one of these before? Anyone know if they're any good?

The main problem with the one you've posted is the response time. There is simply too much lag no matter which of the plugs you decide to use. If you're looking for NES/SNES Wii adapters, check out Retrozone. I have both their Wii adapters and their PC adapters, and they are fantastic. They work as you'd expect them to without any input lag. Yes they're more expensive than your average adapter, but they're high quality and work perfectly.
I still haven't found anything that does an N64 controller acceptably on the Wii. Retrozone introduced a N64 USB adapter, so I was hoping that they might yet make one for the Wii too.

Instead of this, I recommend Mayflash's NES and SNES to Wii adapter. Unlike this one, the Mayflash adapter hooks up to the Wiimote, turning NES and SNES controllers into Classic Controllers, not Gamecube controllers.
The only problem is that it's built with using Famiclone controllers in mind instead of NES. You will have to either modify the adapter to support NES 7pin or build yourself a DB-9 to NES 7-pin adapter.
I wrote quite a bit about this process and a tutorial on my blog if anyone is interested.
http://satoshimatrix.wordpress.com/ just search through my previous posts. It'll be there.
