That has happened to me several times now. The forums used to notify me if someone had posted ahead of me, but for the last few weeks I have seen multiple instances where I was not notified.

Well, I guess it still works...I was just notified of your previous post.

Concerning the post issue, I do know that if someone manages to post their response before you click the reply button, it won't tell you someone has replied. But in those cases, you should be able to see it in the Topic Review panel at the bottom of the Reply page.
