Games where you control the badguy?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Katamari Damacy.

You are rolling up a whole bunch of stuff - animals and people included - and then shooting them into space to turn them into stars. Sounds pretty evil to me.

In Sylvester and Tweety in Cagey Capers you play as Sylvester in constant, hungry pursuit of Tweety. Admittedly this is a bit of a gray area considering how much of a douchdozer Tweety Bird is in the cartoon.

I think Legend of Kyrandia: Malcolm's Revenge counts as one.

Recently you can play as bad guys in all Star Wars games.

You can also play as assholes like Vick in NFL games.

Tecmo's Deception series

Sly Cooper series(You're always running from the law)

We've mentioned Bioware, but Knights of the Old Republic really stands out because SPOILER

Your character's back story is that of a major, badass villain

I think someone might have already mentioned Disgaea

Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X on the PSP(Vile mode)

Tie Fighter on the PC

Stubbs the Zombie

Lego Batman

Sonic Adventure 2

Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors(Depends on who you consider the villains to be, but Nobunaga seems pretty damn evil)

Marvel vs Capcom on the Dreamcast once you unlock Onslaught mode

EDIT:Tenchu series doesn't really make you the villain. However, I always feel like an evil bastard when I'm sneaking around in those games and brutally murdering every unsuspecting victim I come across from the safety of the shadows. Those games always make you feel like a powerful predator and a ruthless killer

Sengoku Basara doesn't beat around the bush about portraying Nobunaga as evil: He's got a Spawn-style demonic cape that can shoot spikes out of it, an evil sword that steals souls, legions of undead warriors and... well, yeah. That should be more than enough. He also has a shotgun in his left hand, which is really fun to blast people with.

You can also play as his general, Mitsuhide Akechi. Mitsuhide is portrayed as a dual-scythe wielding Sephiroth, with an uncontrollable insane laughter and equally insane followers who literally run at the enemy with massive explosives strapped to themselves and suicide bomb. Also, he's one of the few characters who can attack his own troops.

I really, really need to play that Sengoku Basara series. Mitsuhide's portrayal is interesting, he didn't seem so villainish in Samurai Warriors. He was actually my favorite character in that game

At one point in The Thousand Year Door you would play as Bowser. It was stupid, though, all you did was walk right. It just divided up the game, along with controlling peach.

The only good this was the stupid things you could do. Like make peach shower (that'd be some epic hentai) and breath fire on Bowser's minions.

Yeah, Mitsuhide is my favorite character in SB2 - both for his insanity and that his joke weapon has his dual scythes replaced with an electric guitar and a mic stand. His abilities were pretty bad ass, too - one of his unlockable abilities had him walk slowly with a dark aura around him, and any who got caught in it would instantly die and you'd absorb their souls as energy. Awesome. Unfortunately, he seems to be absent from SB3 - probably dead.

Mitsuhide is usually portrayed as a hero in other franchises. (Even Capcom's own Onimusha hero Samanosuke Akechi is a descendant of Mitsuhide) That's what made me interested in his portrayal in SB - instead of the heroic traitor to the villainous dictator, he's portrayed as an even bigger villain who just wants to seize control of his master's position.

Also, just started playing Disgaea 3. Disgaea has always been about playing the bad guy, but in Disgaea 3, the morality system is extremely twisted.
