GBA Flashcarts

I dont know? Mine is version 2 (CF Card) (I got it from you!) haha. It can only play certain emulators that were actually made for it as far as I can tell. I started a thread about this a while back actually.

I have a M3 cf (one of the first to work with DS games) and its really great. I can't use it without a passme or flashme on DS and it's bulky because it takes CF cards, but it's perfect for the GBA Player. Not needing to ever swap games on that is great.

Just looking for some basic information...

- Are they compatible with the Game Boy Player?
- Are they generally worth the effort?
- Which is widely regarded as the best?

Compatible with Game Boy Player, GBA, GBA SP, GBA Micro, DS, DS Lite ... and yes, absolutely worth the effort. The GBA has an incredible library (and had its lifespan unfairly neutered if you ask me).

I really don't know about 'best'. A lot of people will say M3 Perfect due to its extra features (like real time clock and real time save), but the compatibility with the entire library is poor I find.

I would recommend the EZ-Flash III (if your pockets are deep and you want the absolute best). It also has real time clock and real time save, support for all the different save types, a power-saving design that uses less power than the other flashcarts..the list goes on. Of course finding an EZ-Flash III is probably even harder than finding someone that wants to cough up their M3 Perfect.

I have an EZ-Flash III and an EZ-Flash IV. If you're not worried about particulars (like real time clock for the pokemanz), I'd recommend getting a IV because it's cheap and still sold in many stores.

I've never owned one, but I have to say it's probably not worth it. Aren't they like extremely expensive? You might as well just get a DS flashcart. The DS is more powerful, and you can find a knock off one that works great for under $4 shipped.

Poor compatibility is news to me. I've never encountered any compatibility issues. What were some issues that you had or know of?

Still, they are really expensive. I'd even say using it on the TV is not worth it. Especially with other options. Does the GCN have a GBA emulator? Dreamcast? Wii? OXbox?

the point is you're not answering the original questions man. He's not interested in hearing about any other systems and their emulators. He wants to know about GBA Flashcarts [NR points to thread subject]

As you can see, I answered his question with an answer that would render answering his other answers useless. I then further explained my answer by backing it up with the reason (expensive), then further explaining that (DS flashcarts are cheaper, it's worth the sacrifice).
