its very simple, puppy=free. ps3=half a grand.
and a once in a life oppturnity . all you have to do is accept whatever system you want and then go to the pound and adopt a puppy. and doing so some really hot chick will be there and think awww its so nice and cute he's adopting a broken puppy and you'll have a girlfriend, a puppy and a new toy.
This is difficult.
Well said. Together with all the other good points made. Get the console, and get a pet whenever you feel ready to take care of one. And, depending on your age and whether you are going to leave the folk's house for studies, consider a portable pet like an hamster, like some have said before me.wyatt wrote:If there is any doubt as to weather or not you should be getting an animal, then there isn't really any doubt. Puppy, but only if it's a Labrador or Rottweiler or something that qualifies as a real dog. One that has a brain and doesn't piss and shit on everything past infancy. I am especially voting puppy because you mentioned 360/PS3 rather than a good game console.
Seriously, I vote puppy unless you don't have the environment for it. I've had cats and hamsters, and they're cute and funny, but a dog really is a friend. I spent so many summer nights growing up, chilling on a busted-ass couch, watching shitty cable TV with my 115lb white lab. He was good company, always. He was never much trouble and he quickly learned what was wrong. There was times when someone left the gate open, but he didn't even leave. As long as you have a backyard and could tolerate it being populated with dog mines, you'll do fine.

I agree on the kind of dogs...Mozgus wrote:Puppy, but only if it's a Labrador or Rottweiler or something that qualifies as a real dog. I grew up with Rottweilers, Pit Bulls, and Labs as well... very good dogs all three of them. Don't believe the bullshit stories about rotts and pit bulls being killers... the only mean ones I've meet had mean owners. My Pit Bull I have right now is the best trained dog I've ever had, never shat in the house, can be walked with out a leash, and barks to warn when someone is in my yard.
Shit he won't even dare get on the couch or look at me when I eat he's so well trained.
My entire family was pissed when that outbreak of negative news stories spun out on Pit Bulls. That was so much bullshit. I worked in an animal shelter and we had friendly bulls and rotts. But we had a great dane that was a fucking monster. Scared the hell out of me. There was no saving that one.lordofduct wrote:I agree on the kind of dogs...

But yeah. It's never the breed, it's always the owner. There are tons of little bastard dogs that will try fruitlessly to kill you, but of course their size prevents them from doing so. I think there are more psycho sadistic small dogs than large ones.

Option 1:
Puppy's are not easy for a vast number of reasons including large fecal deposits in unwelcome locations and chewed up games, cords and sytems. Not recomened until you can take care of yourself, which may be a while since you are asking this question.
Option 2:
PS3's are still too expensive with such a weak game selection. Doesn't look good.
Option 3:
X-Box Live is worth the price of the 360. So many retro games, I'm on the virge of buying one myself. But that gets expensive. Decent choice.
Option 4:
Save a couple hundred bucks and get a DS with Nintendogs. Best of both worlds. ha!

yeah, it can be a real hassle finding places to live that allow pets. You also have to budget for dog food, cleaning supplies, treats, and still have a reserve in case something happens to it - paralysis or any number of diseases can really cause some damage to both the dog and your wallet.
A game system will not necessitate immediate cash. you'll be able to buy as you have the cash and sell stuff back if you need cash. Just try selling your dog's collar back to the store...I don't think you'll get an advance on the next guitar hero with it...
