Use a browser that blocks popups.
Your not going to "refurb" an ancient laptop battery for less then $50. You can buy new lithium cells, get around the same voltage. But it wont be cheap.

Searching for the part number of that battery: 6500358 may turn up some good deals, but I haven't purchased anything from any of the sites I saw on google so I can't recommend any suppliers.
Yeah, $50 is kinda expensive. I've ordered new batteries that work well for a few different laptops and never paid over $30.
The part no. seems to turn up more reasonable prices on Ebay.
