I have it for Saturn (but sure as hell didn't pay 200 bucks for it!), and I will download it for XBLA. I'll probably like the Saturn version better just because it is a physical copy.

Sadly, I just don't see this happening. Ever. Radiant is mostly in 3D, which makes it easier to "update".

Guardian Heroes is completely sprite based. Even the special effects and spells are sprite based. I'm going to go out on a limb here but... The preparation to make GH into a game that anyone would actually buy today would be far beyond the cost a developer like Treasure would be willing to shell out.

Another thing to consider: People have been begging Treasure for a Radian Silvergun re-release for years now. You say the name "Radiant Silvergun" to a random modern-day gamer and they will probably have heard of it. They may not know exactly what it is, but they will have heard the name from a friend or read it in a review for another game somewhere.

NO ONE knows what Guardian Heroes is. I have lost count of how many people I have personally introduced to the series. These are old skool, hardcore gamers. Therefore, no one's been begging Treasure for a remake/re-release.

Believe me, I would be at the store tomorrow to buy whatever system it was coming out on if there were an announcement. 6 player coop mayhem through story mode and high def sprites in the vein of SF HDR would make me quit my job so that I could dedicate the rest of my short, starving life to playing this game. And I own the original.

This is awesome and bad at the same time. I love this game and can't wait to play it in HD, but I was going to sell my 360 and now I can't . :( Everyone is talking about their copies value plummeting after the XBLA release. Most people bought this game for long term collecting and there is nothing long term about a downloadable game on the 360 or any console this generation. These consoles WILL fail in the near future and this game won't be available for download forever. Also, this game has been very easy to pirate for a long time now, with a CD-R and a easy to install mod chip everyone can play this game on the cheap and that hasn't affected prices. So I guess what I'm saying is I suggest everyone hold on to their copies because they will rise again in the future.

So...? I really can't see this affecting anyone other than people who were not intending to play the original SS game but rather just turn a profit on a much sought after game. I've had the game since it came out and I like to play it. I wouldn't part with it unless someone gave me an obscene amount of money like, $500 or more (I would just play a back-up then).
If someone is upset that they can't sell their copy for $200 anymore, perhaps they should have sold it for less and earlier.
