So I finally bought my first Game Boy Color. I had an original Game Boy [Classic] for years and years and did borrow a Color for a little while in college, but I was just firing up Tetris tonight and the D Pad felt just a bit stiffer than I remember the Classic being.
Does this sound typical or am I just imagining things?

Hmmm. I've always had my D pads become tremedously loose when I try to play GBC again.
However, sometimes I'll buy a GBC and the DPad will be stiff due to dirt/grime/goop/weird-orange-putty in there.

Re: Game Boy D-Pads
I have both the original Game Boy and GBC, and the D-Pad on the GBX is definitely much stiffer.
Though, I had the special Pokemon GS GBC, so that might make a difference compared to the other ones.

While I suppose build-up is possible, this one looks quite pristine...slowslow325 wrote:Hmmm. I've always had my D pads become tremedously loose when I try to play GBC again.

Maybe it was the Game Boy Pocket that was always loose. I would check my Game Boy Colors but I'm to lazy to walk into the other room.racketboy wrote:While I suppose build-up is possible, this one looks quite pristine...slowslow325 wrote:Hmmm. Re: Game Boy D-Pads
The Game Boy D-Pads are all tight EXCEPT for the Pocket.
I love that thing but its D-Pad is the bane of my handheld gaming. It's loose, mushy and moves around in its socket. Which is normal but wtf man.
