The people who wrote this suck, cause in 1992 they couldn't get their head out of the console wars, to see what excellent games the gameboy had.

Bro, gtfo mah DDR. I liked its soundtrack, and it was hard sometimes, but not hard enough to want to throw the mat at a wall or the nearest human/pet. And now look! It's worth a bunch of money!

I voted for Super Mario 64. While Galaxy may just be the greatest of all time (and I'm not doubting that), I have a place in my heart for the first Mario game I owned. I completed 64 and Galaxy and beat Bowser on Sunshine. I've also played SMB 1-3 a bit (don't own 'em) and have NSMBWii, which I really don't like (I've only played multiplayer though). The others I haven't played, which is why I can't give a perfect judgment.

Super Smash Bros. (N64): Ranked top 5 in Wisconsin from Q1 2016 to Q2 2017

I saw that list. I can't imagine what litmus test they had for defining what a Mario game is. It's not like they needed to stretch the standard much. Pretty sure Mario has had enough titles to do a top 50 without looking to NES Golf to shore up the count.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

it seams that even Nintendo is biased against the Super Mario Land games.

http://mario25th.nintendo.com/index2.html

Probably because they were made my Gumpei Yokoi, and Miyamoto hates him cause he was the true genius of the company. He made the Gameboy, Metroid, Kid Icarus, and his work even influenced the DS.

All jokes aside, why the fuck do so many people forget about the Mario Land games?

FFS they sold 14 and 11 million copies http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_be ... ideo_games

It's beyond me. But it seems like a lot of the gameboy era titles have just fallen through the cracks, no matter how awesome they were. The Mario Land series. The Zelda gameboy titles (both Nintendo and Capcom produced). Metroid II is the only metroid that gets so ignored.

You'd think Nintendo would realize that an investment of a hundred man-hours and a few thousands dollars would be all it would take to do a face lift on these titles, slap them into an epic compilation for the DS, and head to the bank to collect dividends.

something...something just died inside of me

http://kotaku.com/5638340/so-whats-the- ... -bros-game

it seams super mario land 2, is the worst selling main series Mario game ever.... why? I am truly sad. I'm sad that more gamers didn't experience one of my favourite games of all time.

This game was a huge part of my gaming childhood. This is the game I played on a friend's gameboy and fell in love with the medium.

This is the game that showed me just how imaginative someone can be. Mario world had flashy grass and water, Mario Land 2 didn't have that, so to make up for it they had to use more imagination in their level themes and design. And it worked.

Wikipedia said Super Mario Land 2 had sold 11 million copies, but according to this it sold 3 million copies at best. Truly sad that more people haven't played this game.

This is a terrible thing to discover as I go about starting my day.

Why the heck is that game so ostracized? I wish it could be one of the 'together retro' games so that more people on this site could experience the love.

Sunshine is far and away my favourite mario game. I love them all, but the upbeat atmosphere and more acrobatic mario of Sunshine made it the most enjoyable in the series to me.

I don't understand all the hate it gets.

Also, I love both the GB mario games, They're probably 2 of my favourites. Sad that they're so forgotten.

Mario Sunshine is criminally underrated. It's great just for those challenging fludd-less stages alone.
