Lots of stops have changed in the past two years; for example, Traders #2 has changed locations. Another shop on the main street (the one a member was raving about the 2nd floor) has changed its second floor into a cosplay shop, etc. Some stuff will still be there, of course.
Seen quite a few of these stoes on the net they really are amazing places. if I put my entire games collection in a store it would only take up a tiny fraction of the stock (and I have a good 600 games).
If I ever do go to Japan I would love to shop at one of these places.

I don't really go there any more (as it no longer as it was back in the early/mid 90s) but that page should be a decent start for the dude. If something has moved locations, well, most people just wander around there to see what they can find. Part of the fun~
Edit: I'm not saying Akihabara sucks now, it's fine but it has just changed a lot. A bigger focus on anime, maid cafe, and other stuff that make it less game-centric than it was before.
For me now, Den-Den Town is way better and more like the Akihabara of old.
That and Kansai is way better than Kanto~

I can see you put a lot of thought and research into this decision.
Take the Yamanote line to either Tokyo Station or Shinagawa Station. Then take the Shinkansen Train to Shinosaka Station. From there, take the Midousuji line to Dobutsuenmae Station. Get on the Sakaisuju line and and get off at Ebisucho Station. You'll be right in Denden Town!!! It will take exactly 225 minutes and cost 14,120yen.
I highly recommend you get a JR Rail Pass of some sort if you do this.

He could be confusing Akihabara with DenDenTown though~ It's possible...
Ikebukuro to Osaka is like "I'm visiting Los Angeles, San Francisco is close, right?" I keed, I keed~

Hey, I was nice. I have him very specific instructions!
BTW, you're not "keeding". Your analogy is dead-on!

http://www.japanrailpass.net/ It's roughly 28,000Y for a regular seat so basically it'll cover your round-trip and 7 days total use (see the site for exceptions though).
