NHL 11

Post by DaGamingMonkey »

I know there are some hockey fans on this site but any of you playing NHL 11?

I have it for the 360 and want to see if we can get a Racketboy league going if there's enough people.

I do indeed have NHL 11..... but unfortunately it's on the PS3. Amazing game so far, only played a little bit. The online EASHL is pretty awesome. It's basically Online Be a Pro where you meet up with your buddies for online games against other teams where you control just 1 player. You can even have all the positions filled up by real players (including goalie). Luckily I have 2 other buddies who've also just picked up the game this week.

I have it for the Xbox 360 as well. I live on the East Coast though so it might be harder to be on at times you might be on... but I'm game. I prefer Right Wing.

I've mentioned it in other threads, but might as well here...

I'm an EASHL man. For the third straight year, that's pretty much all I play. The new HUT might get a little play time though.

HUT is reallly good. Very entertaining. I noticed you picked up the game. I just joined an EASHL team I've never put to much effort into the mode but this year I'm hoping to change that.

Yeah, HUT seems like it has good depth to it, but as far as playing hockey goes, you can't beat club play. The concept of changing players on ice with the press of a button seems so foreign to me now, and that's how it was done for the first fifteen years! Having your own created skater that you're locked to = ideal. The couple of times I've played single-player offline or online the past few years, I have to lock my character to my favored position (RW). That way I'm only changing characters through line changes, however a problem still arises: I'm so used to my player shooting like me (lefty) that a righty gives me problems.

My point is that through 'Be a Pro', you really start to become one with your player.

Yeah... I find playing modes other than the "Be A Pro" style mode weird. I love controlling my player at my position. Super fun.

I love this game. It even has the NHL 94 control scheme! I have no idea when they first introduced this since it's been a while since I 'updated' NHL.
