Phillips Head Replacement Screws for N64?

Post by thelolotov »

Does anyone make these? I have had to take apart my n64 before, and I am hesitant to put all these damn security screws back in, after how much trouble it was to get them out. And I would just get a bit for these, but I lose screwdrivers fairly often.

A simple match of sheetmetal panhead screws at local hardware store.

Yeah man, just take the security screw to a hardware store and just rummage in the screw bins until you get something with about the same length/diameter.

Don't go to a big hardware store like Home Depot or Lowe's unless you're good at judging sizes through plastic bags. Since you asked if there were replacements available, I assume you're not familiar with different types of screws and such, so I wouldn't go this route. No shame there, just not something you're up to speed on.

If you go to an Ace Hardware or other smaller one they'll have bins of loose screws so you can take your screw and hold it against others to check that the threads, thickness, and length match. You're also more likely to get someone who will help you out finding the right sort of replacement at a smaller store. :)

Lowes has them, ive bought them there before and i work there, but like Hobie-wan said, make sure you match them up right before you walk out with them as theres about a billion screws to go through.

Found some perfect replacements in my little collection of random screws, didn't spend a dime, I'm glad I am such a packrat.
