Inglorious Bastards. It was pretty good, a comical take on WWII and I liked the ending. The scenes were hard to get through if you are trying to watch them as a regular movie and not like small mini movies that connect at the end. That probably makes no sense, but when I started thinking of it that way I really started getting interested in the film. I couldn't wait until the next little mini movie even if it was going to be like a half hour dialogue. The one thing that drove me nuts was Pitt's accent. I am not sure if this was a genuine Tennessean accent, but he sounded like Forest Gump by the end. It was like they kept saying "more more more!" Same with the weird face he was making the whole time. I normally like Pitt in most movies. I guess it's like how I like Depp in most movies accept Burton films.
Anyhoo. I see there is an original film on Netflix now so I plan to watch that to see if this movie was as breakthrough and brilliant as we were led to believe, or just a cheap copy of what they did in the original.
What was the last movie you've seen?
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
The original also had a sequel.

Holy crap! Was it as dialogue-filled with the same type of humor or was it more like Bridge Over River Kwai war movie? You don't have to answer if you don't want to, I am still going to watch it.

I'm not sure if I'd call it a comical take on WWII. Sure there were funny bits. You sort of expect that from a Quentin Tarantino movie, but the movie was quite serious at times. The whole opening scene I found very tense and unnerving.
I liked it too. Given how long Quentin has talked about doing this movie I'm glad he didn't disappoint.

Yeah comedy definitely isn't the right term for this film. That first part was intense as was the bar scene between the English spy and the German officer. My two favorites.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Machete
Pure exploitation fun. My only complaints
1. Lohan was lost, i wonder if she knew she was in a movie called Machete? Was the scene with her in a crack house actually fake, or did they find her there?
2. A bit too long.
3. No fight with Tom Savini vs Machete, oh well guess you have to save something for Machete kills.
4. Loved the low rider army, but where was the tractor of death. Every Mexploitation movie should have one.

I'll be honest, I don't think Lohan knew she was in the film. She certainly didn't have to act for any of her scenes.

The Last Airbender
Not as bad as reviews make it out to be. But overall nothing extraordinary. I would watch the sequel though.

Universal Soldier: This movie came out in 1992, but it really looks like it was made around 1988 or something. It's hard to believe it came out after Terminator 2. It's really dated, but still watchable. I definitely wouldn't call it a classic. I really don't understand why the unisols were making machine-like noises early in the film.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time: I haven't played a Prince of Persia game since the first one (the real first one, not Sands of Time), so I can't comment on how true this film is to the spirit or details of the game. I'm kind of curious how and why Disney licensed this particular property, but they made a pretty fun movie. It's kind of like Ever After: A Cinderella Story in that none of the actors' accents make any sense at all, but it's still a lot of fun to watch. It had a bit of the same silly charm as the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, though it wasn't quite as good.
The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard: I'm not entirely sure how to describe this movie. It's a pretty silly comedy, but not in the sense that it's full of non sequitors the way Hot Shots or any Wayans Bros. film are. It's just silly and ridiculous enough to keep you from really caring about any of the characters they way you would watching, say, Superbad. The story line and the characters all seem to exist for the purpose of jokes, so jokes are what you get. This film made me laugh out loud more than a lot of modern comedies have, but at the end I just felt like I'd witnessed a series of jokes and crazy situations rather than a real story. I have to give them credit for making me laugh, though.
