Re: Forum Avatar Restrictions
Honestly, I like things as they are now. There's really no need to give the users larger avatars or more signature space. Sure it may look better, but we're here more for reading what the poster has to say rather than just looking at how well made their avatars are.

That's not to say Avatar's aren't important. They're really important. When someone doesn't have an avatar, no matter how many posts they have, your mind always looks at them as a newbie.Upsidedown Fuji wrote:Honestly, I like things as they are now. Plus, I always associate a person to their avatar. Since it's the only image I have to view them by, I always picture them as the person talking. It throws me off when someone changes their avatar to a completely different figure. It throws me off more when someone has Bomberman in their avatar, then makes a YT video and it turns out they're an old woman.

Re: Forum Avatar Restrictions
I hope that's not always the case. I don't have an avatar simply because I can't think of anything I'd like to put there. A lot of you folks change yours fairly often but it never confuses me; I've come to associate a kind of 'voice' with a lot of the more frequent and prolific members.slowslow325 wrote: When someone doesn't have an avatar, no matter how many posts they have, your mind always looks at them as a newbie.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
Re: Forum Avatar Restrictions
I think the avatars are a perfect size. Limiting size is nice because it keeps loading faster and tend to limit distracting animations. I've been on forums that allow quite large icons and the amount of screen space they take up is ridiculous, if avatars were to be bigger it should only be vertically. Making them bigger horizontally is just wasting space. Actual content is far more important than everyones silly pictures.

I think I'll save that for any future online dating. Just to let the ladies know what's coming.Hobie-wan wrote:Duh. Here you go.![]()

Re: Forum Avatar Restrictions
I think if the avatars were allowed to be taller at least, it wouldn't matter too much. There is always a lot of blank space left under someones avatar, no matter how short he post is.
