Man, seriously what did happen? 99.9% of music released by major labels these days just blows. Its just cookie cutter generic crap. Thank god for the past. It almost seems that freedom of creation was stripped away from all artists.

The kids lap it up though, and let's be honest, that's where all the money is.
And I'm only 24.

It's always blown man. History only remembers the good stuff because 99% of whats always been on the radio is crap.corn619 wrote:Man, seriously what did happen? 99.9% of music released by major labels these days just blows. Re: Best thing about music these days?
Let's be honest here. Music has been shit for at least 10 years now. The last truly original rock band was Faith No More and the last truly original pop band was the Talking Heads. They were both formed in the 70's and 80's. A long time ago...
But I'm old so I guess that's what happens as you age. Your opinion gets stuck in the era from whence you came.

Re: Best thing about music these days?
i will agree with you that a lot of music is generic, uninspired, and shallow. but when i go to bars i WANT to hear music with a good beat. and honestly, katy perry, miley cyrus, lady gaga, etc all have some pretty catchy songs. nothing kills the mood/vibe inside a bar when some idiot decides to play some killswitch engage.corn619 wrote:Man, seriously what did happen? 99.9% of music released by major labels these days just blows. if you took a shit, please put it back
Re: Best thing about music these days?
I don't think "idiot" is a strong enough word to describe someone who like KillSwitch Engage.final fight cd wrote:when some idiot decides to play some killswitch engage.

Re: Best thing about music these days?
That's a very bold statement. I can think of a handful of bands that are in the rock and pop genres that are original and have formed since then.Shabba wrote:Let's be honest here. It only holds true if you're talking about major label / radio music.

I would build a rocket to the Moon and fucking live there if it meant I'd never have to hear the Black Eyed Peas and their horrible inane music ever again.
