New Gamestop Web layout

Post by CRTGAMER »

Noise made a comment about this a while ago.
Anyone else hate the new unfriendly Web pages at Gamestop?

I sent them an EMail:

The old Gamestop page would load quick and remember my zipcode from previous sessions. Handy to see local stores right away during a game search.

This new layout has too many pages of time consuming loads to find a particular store. Plus if you click the zipcode box while the page is still loading it kicks you back a page. Do I really need a whole country map to slowly load every time I look for a new game? What a pain!

Bring back the old quick loading page with the original non-bloatware maps!

Don't take this the wrong way, CRT, I very much enjoy your posts; but what do you have against verb to be?

It always bothers me in what you write.

I don't have any problem with it, really. I just tried putting in my zip to see what you were talking about, but it quickly zoomed to my location. Perhaps you just have an older computer or slow internet connection. I think they have a good setup; new games promoted all over the place, old games search/browse-able.

The older page would remember my zip permanently. I could search Gamestop for a game days later and a list of the nearest three stores would appear on the very first page along with the game review.

New layout loads an entire country map. Zip code has to be typed in for every new search. Have to sit through three page loads everytime I'm looking for availability of a game.

Trivial, but I look for a lotta games at times.

*goes to check layout*

*zip code box loads in 3 seconds*

*see's variety of new and upcoming games*

Sorry man, I see no problem here.

Do you have to re-type your zip code on every new game title search?

I don't even see a difference....

I don't ever go to that site, though.

The "Call Store For Availability" makes the Store Availability Feature worthless.

The new site, as it is currently is a step in the wrong direction. I don't think its entirely finished though. The price drop section was blank for a while but it seems to be working now.
