TOTAL: 29

While I enjoy a good beat 'em up, I had some issues with The Bouncer. I enjoyed the leveling aspects, but the constant videos between fights that only lasted a few seconds was quite the buzzkill and hindered the action too much. Still, Square was kind enough to give me the option to pause and skip videos, so I applaud them on that part. Hard to believe they did this a decade ago and so many companies have yet to figure this out.

And while so much of the gameplay focuses on the fighting, I found the few sections that didn't to be rather jarring. Suddenly I'm searching through crates, running under doors, or attempting to pantomime ninjas...and it just feels so goofy when combined with the plot, which I found to be so bad I gladly skipped through most of the videos.

Overall the game wasn't very difficult, with only a few fights standing out, and even then it was a problem with the mechanics: in one long section I had to play babysitter, while in another the camera was at a poor angle, so I couldn't see how close I was to my opponent. The AI partners are also nothing short of terrible, but when they did act it helped out quite a bit, especially against the final boss.

I'll probably give this game a few more playthroughs to build up characters, but only because it's so short and I can keep my progress once I've beaten it.

Isn't it cool that my wife's first game beaten of 2010 is Turtles In Time?

So she's a beautiful woman, she lets you eat steak and drink beer, AND she plays Turtles In Time?

I knew I was right to call you a winner.

Would you count DLC?

I mean Borderlands DLC is like a whole other part of the game, Alan Wake has extra chapters, do they count?

Thoughts?

If they are substantial, yes. I posted the Awakenings expansion for Dragon Age, but not the DLC campaigns I completed as they were short. If I beat all the DLC for Fallout 3, I'd probably post that.

So my vote is yes if you beat all DLC and it is a decent cumulative length, no if not.

First time I've ever beat Mega Man 2, and it was hard as hell on the iPhone. Once I got used to the controls it was a bit easier though.

The controls for G'nG weren't so bad after I beasted through MM2. Took about an hour to beat, and made me download the sequel right away, so I guess that says something.
