Gametop website not allowing zipcode search anymore???
I just tried to check to see if a certain game was in stock locally. Something I do quite often, actually as there are seven stores in driving distance of my house and work. And the website layout looks different for the product page, and instead of saying Available or not, instead it just lists stores in the area of the zipcode I entered, and each one says "Call store for availability".
...!!!
If they took away the ability to check the availability of games on the site, then that completely blows. I use it ALL THE TIME!

I went to Gamestop.com immediately after reading this.
Zipcode search seems to still be up. I pulled a search for a the game, and clicked on "check store availability." That lets you enter your zipcode, and a map pops up indicating the stores that have the game.
It's just a different format. Not sure if I prefer this format, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

yes a map pops up, but where does it say if the game is available or not?

I assumed the spots marked on the map indicated the stores where the game is supposedly available, because the map I got didn't show every Gamestop in my area.noiseredux wrote:yes a map pops up, but where does it say if the game is available or not?

I don't think so. I think it only shows you the first 5 or so stores. Notice under the map, it lists them and each store says "call store for availability"

I just did a search for something and it only gave me one store that's not very close, so I think it still works. It probably just says to call because the system isn't always up to date, at least that's what I've been told by GS employees before.

As far as I recall, they always had that "call store for availability" text, because they can't guarantee that the game will be there when you come by.noiseredux wrote:I don't think so. I just did another search for a game I searched for yesterday. It's popping up the same set of Gamestops that I got yesterday, so I'm positive that zipcode search is still running.

I just did a search on a rarer game to confirm. You are correct. I over-reacted. Haha. Thanks.

It's nice that they shortened it to a 60 mile radius. Having what I want 90 miles away is not what I want to see.

Especially when it's something I REALLY want. It's hard to justify that 100 mile trip to the gf.YoshiEgg25 wrote:It's nice that they shortened it to a 60 mile radius. Having what I want 90 miles away is not what I want to see.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
