Need help finding CD-i drive eject/disc tray belt!

Post by Mod_Man_Extreme »

Ok, so I've had my CD-i for a bit now and it works great, except that the drive tray eject belt on it was kaput. Luckily the snapped belt was inside of the Cd-i and I measured it to find that I need either a 5.6'' or 5.7'' square belt replacement.

My main question is where the heck should I go to get one of these? I've been searching it for a while and haven't really come up with much. I found out that it's the same type of belt used in most CD-Rom and Cassette players but aside from that I just got lots of funky looking websites and not a lot of help.

This site has the 5.6'' and 5.7'' belts for only 89 cents a piece but I've never heard of them:

And this site has them as well, but they're pricey at $4.50 just for one tiny silicon belt:

And finally, these guys have them as well and even seem to have a storefront in Kalamazoo Michigan, but they don't take paypal so I'm pretty much turned off to them:

So, does anyone here have any idea of a good reliable place to get a drive belt for my CD-i, or happen to have an old 5.6'' or 5.7'' one lying around?

I have not used electronix.com but I happen know that they're a frequently recommended source for replacement lasers for turbo duos. I bet you could find someone who has used them at pcenginefx.com
