dear pirates and homebrew activists,

Post by nickfil »

first of all, yar.... yar.

I picked up a netgear wireless range extender today for some consoles downstairs. I didn't want to run a cable down there, but i wanted to game online sometimes on my second xbox 360, or access my original xbox via ftp. So i picked up the range extender because it has 4 ethernet ports on the back that can plug into any game system (omg cheaper than xbox's wireless)

And then i realized they actually threw an on/off button on the back of it. Which is kinda neat so you don't get any nasty updates while it is off. You can turn it off for playing pirated games before release, and then turn it back on once release date rolls around. Things like that.

Kinda neat feature. Thought you guys might get into it.

it is kinda neat, but i don't see how it helps playing games before release with any added protection from the ban hammer.

yeah- and around chrismas they crack down.

I was playing borderlands weeks before it came out on an offline machine. When i took my profile back online i wasn't banned. I don't think they like- timestamp any of the achievements. I think it is all if they see it before release. No online- and you can't update your account achievements. Hence, no banhammer. At least, thats what i thought.
