I think I have registered this opinion before on this thread, but I also really enjoyed Bruno. I really don't understand all of the hate that movie gets.
NO the movie was pretty funny and very well done... It's just the simple fact that it's pretty damn raunchy.. There were many funny parts like the talk show, karate instructor and the whole trying to interview A-list stars.. Not sure which I like better between this and Borat... I was a fan of the Ali-G movie as well..
Edit: btw I was the one that mentioned Bruno, not Luke
I honestly thought the Ron Paul scene was one of the worst.. But that is just me.. I felt a few times that his whole deal was to provoke people with aggressive homoeroticism, which did make me feel uncomfortable... Overall though I thought it was well done and really did expose a couple of homophobic groups, even though it was pretty predictable that a few of the target audiences would react in such a way because of being stereotypical.. Borat did this in a more subtle fashion, but Bruno had as many if not more LOL moments.. I guess I'd have to watch it a second time to determine if it's better than Borat, but I think I'm partial to Ali-G..

I agree about the Ron Paul scene. I kind of think it's only funny if you hate Ron Paul. If he had reacted in a more extreme fashion or something, it might have been funny. As it was, he just looked very uncomfortable without doing anything really ridiculous.
I have the Ali G film on DVD, but I found it to be pretty disappointing. I love the Ali G interviews, but the movie just didn't play to his strengths, in my opinion.
I saw the movie Gore Gore Girls the other day, HGL classic here, although the movie had some great kills, and awesome gore, the story wasn't nearly as cool as something like 2,000 maniacs- instead a bunch of strippers keep dying, it was like a real bad Gialo movie with excessive nudity and blood----Best kill was when he stuck the girls face into a boiling pot of french frieds, and then turned her face into a stew of sorts
