Genesis/Sega CD/32X
PS1
PS2
PS3
GB
GBA
PSP
Those are the ones I played the most in the generation they were released. However, I played a lot of 2600 games during the 7800 era, a lot of NES games during the PS2 era, etc. - I always shift around. Right now my PS3 gets the most play, but the Wii was my first/only console this generation for about two years. Over time though, the PS3 has seen more hours than the Wii or the 360.
This is also the first generation where I've had all major consoles/handhelds at the same time. Last gen I had a PS2 and GCN only. Before that, I only had one console at a time when they were current.
What was your primary console in each generation
Re: What was your primary console in each generation
Good point there. I have most games on the Wii and 360 getting equal attention but the games I have actually played instead of just hoarding games is retrogames.dsheinem wrote:

At the moment I've been playing scummvm / dos adventure games and a few months ago I was into the Gameboy color as I was spending a lot of time travelling and the Gameboy color has great battery life.

Genesis, then ps1, ps2, and 360
Re: What was your primary console in each generation
That's easy for me, SNES, N64, PS2, PS3/Wii. This current generation is the only time I don't have a single current console that gets more use.

NES (My first games console)
SNES (Mega Drive was good but i had like 2 games for it, I got like 20 games with my snes)
Playstation (It was the coolest thing ever made)
Gamecube (I saw the games and was wowed, also the PS2 was the console i wanted more but come 2003 the console still costs loads so I lost the hype)
Wii (NINTENDO. Much cheaper than the 360. MOTION CONTROLS. Not much more needs to be said for why I got it.)

Re: What was your primary console in each generation
Didn't get into it until the SNES/Genesis era...though I did play a bit of other people's NES's. I can't imagine many people would respond that the NES wasn't their main console during this era...
Genesis
PS1
PS2
For the current gen, I'm old enough to buy what I'd like, so I had all 3 fairly quickly. It started off that the 360 was my console of choice, but that has drifted to the PS3 within the last year and a half or so.

This. Exactly this.
My dad had PC, Atari, and NES, but the first console I owned personally was SNES and I've been playing the big N's games ever since.
Nintendo till I die.
