I won't deny it in general, but I don't think my pooper-scooper post really counts as trolling. I just thought your phrasing about "walking your daughter" was funny.Octopod wrote:

How do you get cloves since they have become illegal?dsheinem wrote:3-4 cigars a year, and maybe a few cloves. I try to be picky about the cigars.
Didn't vote yes because I wouldn't consider myself a smoker, didn't vote no because I do smoke once in a blue moon.

I can't afford cigarettes. I buy too many video games.

They changed the paper on the cloves so now they are considered cigars and are legal again. Now they are cheaper toojp1 wrote:[How do you get cloves since they have become illegal?

Re: Do you smoke cigarettes/Cigars.
I don't smoke cigarettes, cigars, or anything else. I have tried cigarettes a couple of times when I was a freshman and drunk or pissed off, but even then I can count the number of cigarettes on one hand without using my thumb or pinky finger (obviously I'm not German). I've also never smoked marijuana, tried any other illegal substance, and I rarely consume alcohol...and even when I do, I drink for taste, not to get drunk, so I don't usually drink more than a single beer.
I have many friends that do a variety of these things, and it doesn't bother me. I just simply don't. I'd much rather have a long discussion on the themes running through the -punk genres of science fiction at parties than a drunken kegger.

Re: Do you smoke cigarettes/Cigars.
I used to smoke Marlboro cigarettes. I quit cold turkey about a year ago and haven't smoked one since my last pack. Living in New York makes smoking a very expensive habit. When I quit smoking, the last pack I bought cost me close to $8. Since then, more taxes have been applied to buying cigarettes and the price is now over $10 for almost any pack.

Man, we send these people outside to smoke in the dead of winter and some people still aren't happy. As a non-tobacco smoker I've found smokers to be more than accommodating. Tobacco smoke doesn't really bother me, and I tell people that I don't mind if they smoke in my car or house. No one takes me up on the offer.Octopod wrote:einzelherz wrote:No, I'm polite.
And there you have it. I never noticed this before, probably since I started smoking at such an early age and grew up around smokers, but smoking in public is plain rude.
If they're smoking outside, then you're not getting enough smoke to be harmful in any way. Just because you can smell it doesn't mean it's at a concentration that's physiologically relevant. IMO, the people who start fake coughing at the first whiff of tobacco smoke are being a lot more rude than the folks on the sidewalk who are just trying to get a fix real quick so they can get back to work.

Smokers gotta smoke somewhere, put them out back away from non smokers trying to get in.Hatta wrote:Man, we send these people outside to smoke in the dead of winter and some people still aren't happy. One co-worker used to drive me nuts, always on a smoke break.

I honestly don't understand why anyone would start smoking in this day and age, what with their effects on the body (and wallet!) being pretty much common knowledge now.
I mean, it's expensive, extremely unhealthy, and everybody knows this, yet I'm still seeing 16 year olds lighting up. I just don't get it.
