Buying a PS3, help me pick ONE (exclusive) game

I'm going to be getting a PS3 in about a week and I need a hand picking what to get with it. I know I'm getting Heavy Rain because my girlfriend wants it. But I want to get something for myself besides blu ray movies. I already have a 360 so unless the game is superior on PS3 I'd rather have the 360 version.

I'm leaning towards either Little Big Planet, or Ratchet and Clank right now. Mainly because they're both cheaper and don't need a big time investment to get something out of them.
That said I'm also looking at Demons Souls, Valkyria Chronicles, 3D Dot Game Hero. Or just getting a $50 PSN card and buying a bunch of those games, but beyond Pixel Junk games, and Flower I don't even know much about what's on PSN. I'm totally open to suggestion though so don't hold back.

Edit: I'd prefer to get suggestions for lesser known, unusual, or import games. All the blockbuster games are great, but I already have a pretty good feel for which of those I'm interested in.

God of War. If you don't have the first two on a PS2, get the Collection. If you already have those, get 3. Fantastic series of games.

Apologies, just that content seems to be going south on these forums. Its just that it seems a lot of new threads are like this. Someone asks about what to buy and everyone states their favorite. With so many knowledgeable members here, Racketboy has a lot more to offer then just the latest top five favorites. Waste of some real meat and potatoes, discussion. Maybe might get some decent banter outta this comment.

My son has one of the Fats and loves online Modern Warfare 2.

Little Big Planet is an excellent choice, and really cheap too. Same for Ratchet and Clank. Both exclusive, and both a heck of a lot of fun to play, regardless of your genre interests or skill level. Modnation Racers is a great buy if you're into kart racers/customization. Chances are if you enjoy Little Big Planet, you'll enjoy Modnation too.

I wouldn't recommend Valkyria Chronicles to you unless you really like that sort of game. It's definitely not for everyone, and can be a terrible purchase as much as a good one. Same with Demon's Souls. It's an excellent game but not targeted at everyone. It'll either put some serious hair on your chest, or make you toss your PS3 out the window in frustration. 3D Dot Game Heroes is an excellent play if you're full of retro nostalgia, but not particularly long lasting.

On PSN, Fat Princess is a fun buy, and Super Stardust HD too. The PixelJunk games are usually winners amongst most people. I wouldn't necessarily say there is a lot of exclusive PSN content that justifies a PS3 purchase alone, but there's a lot of fun to be had on the cheap if you're careful.

Other exclusives you might want to look at include Heavenly Sword, God of War 1/2/3, inFamous, Uncharted and maybe even Killzone. It really depends on what kind of genres you like. Since you suggested LBP and R&C though, I think you should start from there because they're universally fun!

Demon's Souls hands down, I have contemplated buying a ps3 several times for that game alone. It is so incredibly awesome.

I totally understand your annoyance at how many threads can be. I don't mean contribute to that, what I'd really like is to get suggestions beyond what I can find by typing "best ps3 games" into google. I mean that works, but it gives you the exact same 20 games over and over and over again.
With all the knowledge (and ps3 owners) that I know are around here I'd love to find out about some games that I've probably never heard of. Be that imports, budget titles, hidden gems, or anything else.
