Modify Wii Sensor bar to run off USB?

the wii sensor bar takes too much voltage to run propperly for a single USB port. it would be better to buy 4x : #276-143 from radio shack (high intensity IR LED) along with two 27 ohm resistors. and wire it up as shown below R1 = 27 ohms will keep the load on the circuit under 500ma as to not blow the usb port and will generate two IR lights for each side of the screen to use as a sensor bar. (you could put it in a tube or whatever you want )

the sensor bar operates around 8 volts and probably draws more than 500ma. you could try just strait wireing it up but i wouldnt recomend it if you value your USB ports
