Best cheap ds games

Post by swiftzx »

So I reignited my interest in ds games but don't want to spend too much on them; what are the best games for ds that won't cost me over $15? I have a few so far like Feel the magic, Arkanoid ds, etc.

Space Invaders Extreme 2 was $4.98 at Gamestop last week. Might still be that cheap...

How is Geometry Wars? I own the other ones but always heard good things from it.

Geometry Wars is amazing. In the Adventure mode you get this Drone thing that, before each level, you select what you want it to do. When you beat a level, that ability of the Drone gets powered up.

This adds a great deal of depth to an already great game.

If you're worried about the control, don't be. You can change it to just about anything. You can move with the D pad and shoot with the buttons, you can move with the D Pad and shoot with the touch screen, you can move with the touch screen and shoot with the buttons, you can move with the touch screen and shoot with the D Pad, etc. It's very customizable.

And there's a whole bunch of other options, too! Like whether you want to play on the top screen or the touch screen (I like playing on the top screen so my stylus doesn't get in the way).

Also, I got it for 4 bucks at a yard sale, but I'd be willing to pay $20 for it, I'm sure you can find it new for $10-15.

Elite Beat Agents is an excellent game. I believe GameStop sells it for 5 or 6 bucks used.

Geometry Wars is a definite winner!

Little Red Riding Hood's Zombie Barbeque was $5 at Gamestop when I got it. It's also a great title.

I think you can still get Castlvania Dawn of Sorrow for $10-$15. If you can find it for that price, pick it up.

Mega Man Star Force 1-2 can be found for under $15. Star Force is the successor to the Battle Network series. Mega Man ZX can also be found cheap, this series acts as a successor to the Mega Man Zero series (although you don't play as Zero unfortunately). I'd recommend these games if you enjoy Mega Man, or more specifically the GBA games. The Final Fantasy games are all cheap now I'm sure. Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and Contact are also great DS RPGs with low asking prices.
