I've never heard of that model...is there anything in particular that makes it better (or worse) than subsequent SNES batches?Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:

Either way, that's a good price for a SNES....

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
The original batch for the first year had a higher quality video encoder and also contained a completely un-integrated audio circuit that plugged in on it's own daughter board making for smoother sound with little to no distortion in the high end like later SNES's and little to any ground loop interference when compared to later models.dedalusdedalus wrote:I've never heard of that model...is there anything in particular that makes it better (or worse) than subsequent SNES batches?Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:

For an average TV and built in speakers setup you won't notice much difference, but if you use an S-video cable and a Hi-Fi Receiver the differences make for a much more colorful and audibly distortion-free experience.
While not as big of a jump like from crap revision Model 2 Genesis consoles to their superior Model 1 counterparts; it's still a much better build all around and weighs nearly three times what a later Model 1 SNES typically weighs.

I found Obscure for the PC, in box (though the box is kinda banged up) for a quarter at a yard sale...But alas, can't play it on my crappy computer. Damn you, Vista...That's why I tend to stray away from computer games. Other than Grim Fandango.

Gamecube preview disc? Does that have Samus on the cover? Or is that a PLAYABLE preview disc? I have a gamecube preview DVD from nintendo power but I'm not sure how interested people are in those.

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
yeah it's a cool collectible for $1. The yard sale pissed me off big time though. They had TONS of Genny games, and some other cool shit. The lady said $2 each for most things. And I got pissed cuz she wouldn't just give in for $1 a piece, so I put a lot of shit back.
I kept a complete Genny copy of Urban Strike for anyone that needs it for this month's Together Retro though.
And a TMNT III soundtrack!
