There's a firefox addon called "comment snob". You can use it to disable youtube comments.

I use it myself and now youtube is a much nicer place.

I saw a hilariously awesome video the other day. It was this dude overanalyzing beauty and the beast. I think he was seriously convinced that Disney is run by some sort of underground race of crab people who are trying to destroy our civilization. He did the typical "I found the word sex 800 times in the background" thing and then went on to try and sound intellectual while discussing concepts like inner beauty.

I think he may be on to something though, I watched disney films as a kid, and now, as an adult, I like sex. DAMN YOU DISNEY!

There were many videos like this related, and the saddest thing was that most of the comments were like "Oh my god you're right!" "I can't believe disney is SO EVIL!".

Which is kinda odd considering the twilight movies are just bad enough to be funny already. I can't see a parody adding anything but lame refrence humour. Im even surprised it's not called Vampire Movie.

YouTube usually only features their partners or people Youtube wants to become partners. Rarely will YouTube feature a good video.

There are some great retro gaming channels out there, I love watching TV and Lust as well as finngamer, both have very good original content.

Me too, well I don't watch tvandlust's vids very often, but I like finngamer's stuff. Finnish people are cool, some of my fave bands are from there.

I like youtube for video game footage, particularly one credit, no damage or no miss playthroughs of classic beat'em ups. Occasionally, I'll find good reviews on youtube as well. Videos from people simply giving you their opinion without giving a crap about a game's hype or what over professional critics are saying. There are a few youtubers who actually do good reviews. They're the minority though it seems. Some of the best content on youtube you only find when it's linked to by other cool sites or blogs

Also, youtube's a great place to get music if you have the right progr....nevermind

Going to flaunt my opinion here, not all Partners are bad. I'll admit, it is cheap that people are in it for the money and pump out bullshit in an attempt to make a quick buck, but other partners actually have GOOD content. IE: Petedorr, Gamester81, Chuggaaconroy.

It's the dumbass "vloggers" that ruin it. I'm pretty sure someone mentioned Shane Dawson? The dude is what, 22? He has the maturity of a 12 year old, and yet he's making money. I don't get it.

And need I even MENTION Fred? Yeah, I think we get it.

Vloggers aren't always bad, I mean, it's just a genre of video, some people like it some don't. It's the dumbass vloggers as you said that suck.

What's wrong with Fred? He created an original idea, and it happened to become big. What's the problem with that? He's not using false thumbnails. In this case, "don't like it? don't watch it!" applies. I'm not saying to stop making videos or comments saying you don't like it, because that's what comments are for, but don't say the YT community sucks because of him!

Any chance you could be more specific? He seems to have a whole lot of videos on a wide variety of topics.

Youtube has to have the worst community ever. You can't go five minutes anywhere on youtube without seeing racist or bigot terms on there. Why are they all such assholes, and why do they make stuff like this.

I think YouTube is full of ______ (everything lame about people) because of it's immense popularity, amount of content, and accessibility. Because it offers so much and is so well known, literally billions of people of all ages go there from all over the world. Everything on the site is made simple. Browsing is cake, anyone can make an account in minutes, comments are posted instantly, and videos are uploaded right away. Basically, you can assume everyone with internet access will visit YouTube, and a large handful of them will begin interacting with the site in at least some way (uploading, commenting, rating). Of that large handful, many will be douchebags. If the comment section on almost any video is any indication of the user base, 5 or 6/10 users are douchebags. Much like if you fill a room with 10 strangers, 5 or 6 of them will probably be douchebags.
