I concur with keeping the Power Rangers fighting game, as it's a precursor to Gundam Wing: Endless Duel and is actually an extremely solid fighting game in which giant Megazords and massive monsters beat the stew out of each other. I don't know about you guys, but to me it takes a man to admit to a Power Rangers game being this awesome.

Hey guys, just need an opinion on the couple games and if they should be included or not.

Lost Vikings, excellent multiplayer game with mind bending puzzles. Manly or too cartoony?

Feda - The emblem of justice: This will be the only RPG if I include this. It has really bad ass characters and an awesome story on top of excellent graphics. RPG fans should give this one a try, there is a translation out there.

Nosferatu - Castlevania meets flashback. Great graphics and a neat fighting system. What do you think?

Super Star Wars Series - I'm not a fan of the Star Wars movies, but the games seem action packed! However, this is not a completely biased opinion. The games seem like there's too much going on and the levels are often confusing as hell. I feel like there is no way to avoid taking damage whatsoever, but the developers didn't care because there's so much health to pick up that you really have to TRY to get killed. Please give me your guys thoughts! I need help deciding on this one more than anything!

I would definitely include the Super Star Wars series. Haven't played the others, sorry.

Let's see...

Lost Vikings - First game is definitely a possibility. There's a lot of fighting to be had, but only 1 character is really useful there. 2nd game, they get technological upgrades, which takes a bit away from the badassery of facing enemies from different areas/time periods as just normal humans. Plus you get a werewolf and anthromorphic dragon at times.

Feda - ...still an SRPG, with anthormorphic wolves(among other animals). If you're gonna add RPG/adventure games, then anything in which the characters aren't whiny little ******s, that break down and cry over who knows what, at any point, would be alright.

Nosferatu - never played it, but if the protagonist is a 1 man army against a horde of monsters(basically borrows enough from classic Castlevania), then hell yeah.

SSW - If he only sticks to using the light saber/laser.

MidnightRider wrote:...Yeah, if I were making this list, these would be my rough guide lines:

Fifth, menly men face things head on, not inside vehicles of any kind: DQ's 98% of all shoot em ups, vehicular combat games(includes whatever you'd call something like Spy Hunter), etc.

So yeah, my list would pretty much be nothing but beat em ups/hack n slash, and run n guns :P

I would've also gone with no super powers as well, which still leaves Batman. Kinda not really manly when you can fight enemies with abilities way beyond their reach.
I think the boys from Contra III would like a word with you about that no vehicle thing(see first level). So would Sylvestor Stallone, Jason Statham and Dolph Lundgren from the Expendables(car chase scene, taking out a bunch of guys on the dock from an airplane)

Batman is very manly though....when he's not hanging out with Robin

Luke Skywalker is not manly, the parts where you use Han Solo on the other hand...

Still, Skywalker kills it.

EDIT:If you could play those games as just Han Solo and Chewbacca, with Leigh following around in her slavegirl outfit, then they would be manly

Just saying

I kind of view the Skywalker in the Super Star Wars games as more like the ridiculous one on that weird old poster:

rather than the one that actually appears in the films.

Incidentally, I don't recall if it came up during the discussion of manly NES games, but I love Star Wars on the NES. Luke looks like he's a four-year-old, but that game is really hard and really awesome.

Alright guys, I decided not to include Lost vikings, and I DID include Nosferatu. It's a really bad ass game just has some confusing controls when you first start.

Anyways, On to FEDA.

This game supposedly takes place in the Fire Emblem world and is actually directly alligned with the story. Now I personally think that the Fire Emblem games are boring as hell. I've tried to get into them, trust me. But you can tell they were never meant to leave Japan.

Feda however has a bad ass plot, awesome story telling, swear words galore, and the beginning starts you on a huge dragon-ship that bombs a helpless village.

It is still a Strategy RPG, but it does a great job of explaining itself to the user. Most RPG/SRPG's are very complex and difficult to understand, ESPECIALLY one thats been fan translated!

The enemies are cool, the battle sequences are epic, but still, it's a Strategy RPG.

Also, If I include this game, I think I'm also going to include the first Front Mission as well. I used to play the hell out of that game.

I'd really like to include these because their slightly obsucre, but then I feel like I would be opening the door for RPG's and I don't want to get out of the Manly Action element of the collection. Thoughts?
