I will be getting an Android phone in the coming weeks (Samsung Galaxy S) so I was wondering, are there any good games on the Android market that I should try?
BTW any android users on the forums?

Re: Android games
I'm an Android user. So is Octopod and even Racketboy himself. I'm a veteran with the Anroid system, since I've been using it ever since the G1. Since then, I've upgraded to the HTC Evo, but I still know my way around the OS.
A good 2D platformer is Replica island, an exclusive to Android. It is a fun game with plenty of levels.
If you're into RPGs, the popular iPhone RPG Zenonia was ported to Android a while back, and runs just as good or better, depending on what phone you have [the Galaxy S included].
Raging Thunder 2 is a stellar arcade racing game with a framerate and graphics that put the PSP to shame.
ExZeus is a 3D rail shooter that basically plays like Panzer Dragoon with robots. It has some impressive graphics, and is a blast to play.
N.O.V.A is another good one, but you have to get it from the developer's official website instead of through the Android market, which is a bit of a hassle, but it is worth it. N.O.V.A is an FPS that has online multiplayer and a solid single-player mode, as well.
Kwaak3 is, obviously, a port of Quake III to Android. It runs shockingly well; just as well as the PC version! You really have to see it in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaaicSzz ... re=related
There are also a ton of emulators for Android, up to and including the PS1. There's also supposed to be an N64 emulator released soon.

Re: Android games
I have an HTC Dream on Android 2.2. Don't really care much for the available games to be honest. I'm really not into buttonless gaming. I have a couple of things (Sudoku, Card games) for passing the time when really needed, but I just can't see it as a serious gaming device.
Personal preference I guess.

Re: Android games
thanks lisalover. Can you give me a link with more info on gameboy and nes emulators? Can't see anything with more than 2 action buttons working well with a touch screen.
Also any card games? Not playing cards, I mean trading card games. Yugioh on the DS was always good.

Buka is kinda fun and has a cool style
I'd have more games if I wasn't still running a G1 (HTC Dream) and it's limited power/storage

Re: Android games
Don't worry, you don't have to use the touchscreen; you can use a Wiimote or a bluetooth controller in most of these emulators. Here's a few videos of some emulators running:

omg this is so awesome. See people? This is what an open platform gets you.
Though it will be a really funny scene, me putting my phone down on the train and bringing out a wii mote and start playing haha. Is there a way to use the Dual Shock 3? I think that uses bluetooth as well.

I believe someone is currently working on a program that will allow you to use the Dualshock 3/Sixaxis. I forgot where I read that, though, but I remember it was fairly recently.ZeroAX wrote:lisalover1 wrote: you can use a Wiimote or a bluetooth controller in most of these emulators.

Re: Android games
As far as I know, no PS3 IME has been released yet. For pairing the DS3 to the PS3, you require plugging it into the console, same with pairing it to a PSPgo. As far as I know, there is no way to pair the DS3 without having to physically plug into the device.
As for emulators, the Wiimote IME is SOLID, I love playing my games with it (you can connect multiple controllers for multiplayer, and connect the classic controller for SNES emulation).
For emulators to use, go with yongzh's emulators. He is always reading commenter's feedback and releasing improvements daily/weekly. As lisalover1 said:

All cost about $10-15 total, but you are SET after that.

If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

Re: Android games
Unfortunately, due to a bug in the Evo's "Sense UI", I can't use bluetooth controllers on my phone until it is fixed. My only other option would be to use a custom Android rom, but I am otherwise happy with the stock one.
