Problem playing originals on Soft Modded oXBox

I picked up an original XBox soft modded with XBMC on the forums here and it is having issues running most of my original (not burned) Xbox games (dirty disc error) and playing a handful of other original games and burned games perfectly. All the discs are clean, etc., is there some sort of mod killer going on or is this an issue with XBMC?

It's an issue with your DVD drive. XBOX are known to have crappy DVD drives.
Get a lens cleaner or order a new laser/DVD drive.

Or, just dump everything to the HDD and run it from there. There's very little reason to use the DVD drive on a modded Xbox.

Unless it doesn't have an upgraded hard drive. You can't fit very much on the stock drive.

True, but if you're going to open it up and replace a drive anyway, it should be the HDD.

His XBOX is a softmod, so he can't just replace the HDD.
He need a way to prep the new HDD and Lock it to the MoBo.
If it had a TSOP flash or Chip he could replace the HDD easily.

All you need for that is a PC you can hook the HDD up to and boot Xbox HDM.
