I have a Gen I Genesis with a 32X installed. I just got a nice Power Base Converter to play SMS games. Since the Power Base is simply a pass-through device, can I simply install the Power Base into the 32X and still play the SMS games? Will I need to disconnect the 32X and install the Power Base as originally intended? I don't want to jack up any of the devices I have but it sure would be easier to install the Power Base in the 32X instead of trying to disconnect the 32X and all. This is all complicated in that everything is also installed on top of a Gen II Sega CD. The cabling is intense!
TIA

Well, it occurred to me to review the 32X instructions and it distinctly says that the two items are not compatible. It only took moving one cable from the 32X to the Genesis so that was pretty easy. My "new" Power Base Converter works great with a cart! I hope the card slot works too because I want a few card games and I want to use the 3D glasses when they arrive (which uses the card slot). I have a gazillion versions of Sonic across many platforms, I hope to eventually find a copy of Sonic for SMS just to have it. I wonder if it's the same game as my Game Gear version? Probably. I hope to find an SMS to Game Gear converter along the way too.
