HDMI TV and Dazzle DVC 100 HELP

Post by Kiko68 »

I recently bought a Dazzle DVC 100 (capture card) to record gameplay, however I am having serious issues with getting it set up. First off, the LCD TV I use, doesn't have any S-Video ports or even any Video OUT ports. Is there anyway I could somehow manage to get an s-video connection to my TV? Also, is there any way I could capture video from the TV, seeing as there aren't any Video OUT ports? sorry about the terminology, I've never really worked with anything other than the standard RCA Composite connections. I've read that I could use a Y-Splitter for each Component connection, or possibly a VGA to S-Video/RCA adapter, but I have no idea where to start. My main goal is to somehow output video from a TV that has no output ports. I'm working with an Xbox 360, with the S-Video/RCA cable. I'd really appreciate any help I could get, I can provide pictures as well. Thanks in advance!

You could capture video from a console using RCA Y splitters. The cords coming from the console go into the splitter, then you plug in the dazzle to the other side of the splitter and the tv, also.

Yeah that is what you will have to do and is better anyway then trying to go to the TV then capture out from the TV. Your sound for the recording session will come from your computer only obviously (well unless you buy three splitters) but that isn't really a big deal.

Definately what I would do in this case, if no tv output then split before the tv.

Thanks a lot guys, thats definitely they way I'm going to set it up. Also, I was just wondering if thhere was any way I could get an s video connection from the tv? Is it possible to split an RCA video jack into 2 s-video connections? Or would that make no sense at all? Anyways, thanks again for the info on the Y-splitters!
