Oh dear not again - C64
Sure it sounds cool, but there have been so many failed attempts there's not even a horse anymore. All that's left is a fine red mist.

I'd buy it, but I don't have money for a computer right now.

I read that they've been working on this for quite some time. It seems to change every 6 months or so. It was supposed to be a PPC system with a customer operating system at one point.Hobie-wan wrote:Sure it sounds cool, but there have been so many failed attempts there's not even a horse anymore. It'll be interesting to see. With all the cables hooked up, the built in keyboard may prove cumbersome. With USB port an extra easy to move around keyboard could be attached.

Depends on the price. If they can make it low enough Im in for a couple. I was looking for a way to obtain/make four pcs of the same specs, but this is just a cool case.

Well, here's some interesting news. Not only is the Commodore brand getting renewed, but the Amiga brand, as well! The company is making a new line of Amiga computers. But, the interesting thing is that it won't run Windows; it will run AROS, the open-source version of the Amiga OS. That's quite a leap of faith on their part, but it's certainly different enough to turn some heads.

I used Amiga OS4 for a while, it was quite capable. If they can give me a modern Amiga that will run all the old Amiga games that I can hook up to a tv and a bluetooth version of the old controller, Id be interested. But when I tried to play Alien Breed on the OS4 it just gave me a fit. Id rather buy a new Amiga than a CD32.

what does this mean?fastbilly1 wrote:But when I tried to play Alien Breed on the OS4 it just gave me a fit.
I've Alien Breed (and basically all the other Kickstart 1.3 games) up'n'running on OS4
all you need is the Kickstart ROMS and some time to set it all up

Re: Oh dear not again - C64
Maybe my kickstarts were corrupt. Ill give it another go in the near future, thanks for the heads up Santa. If that works out, forget buying an Amiga - adds Atom based Amiga to project list.
