I don't think it's that important to have any kind of community standard. Like someone else said, unless you're one of 6 people in the world who own that weird DVR thingy you'll know what people are talking about if they say PSX.

I personally say PSX because officially there was never a such thing as PS1 and all the gaming magazines (to support the 3 character trend: SAT, N64, GBC) kept the PSX moniker.

It's like saying "Regular Nintendo" instead of NES. People know what you're talking about.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I use PSX for big grey one SCPH - 100X-900X
PSone for the mini white one SCPH -10X
PS2 for Phat
PStwo for slim
PS3 for Phat
PSthree for slim

I hate when people use "Original Playstation", "Playstation" or "PS" and are talking about the PS2 or PS3 and not the PSX/PSone
PSone, Xbox, PS2, DC, SS Mod Service, PM for details

I've always called the original model PlayStation a "PS1" and that's what I'll keep saying/writing. I don't think I can call the original a PSX though, because it is a different console. Ultimately, everyone knows what you mean and that's what's important. No matter if you say "PSOne" or "PlayStation 1", the games do not change. :)

I usually call it PS or I just spell out PlayStation. But as people have said, when someone says PS1, PSX, PS, PSOne, etc. we all know what you're talking about so it really doesn't matter too much.
I'm known as ZebetiteGlitch or Zeza Von Thantos on other platforms.

Remember when the Super Famicom was called "SFX"? OR am I really that old?

just think of it like this, depending on how old you are... the original Playstation was know as PSX and then when PS2 came out the PSOne was released also, so everyone after that called the original PS1.

So, PSX, PS, PS1 I think are all acceptable and understood by everyone.

Exactly. I remember all the game magazines referred to it as PSX during its prime. I'm pretty sure I actually remember an article in some magazine (EGM maybe?) about why it was called PSX.
