MSDos gaming of the 90s

The MSDos era of gaming holds the same classic/retro feel to me that the NES and Genesis eras have. I used to play loads of MSDos games as a kid, and I'm hoping some of you can add to the list. I tried to think of more obscure and less obvious ones like Duke Nukem, Wolfenstein, Doom, King's Quest, Math/Word Muncher, Commander Keen, etc. Although I loved those games, I want to try to bring some old classics out of the woodwork. Here's a list of some of my favorites:

Monster Bash 93

This one is a platformer where you play as a little kid in pajamas and slingshot rocks at zombies to attacks. You go around freeing a bunch of pets locked in cages.

Jill of the Jungle 92

This one is also a platformer made by Epic Games, and it's pretty good for the time. The platforming is kind of choppy though.

Captian Comic 88

This wasn't made in the 90s, but I still have fond memories of it. The game is pretty damn hard, I could never beat it. It's a side scroller.

Hocus Pocus 94

A side scrolling shooter made by Apogee. This game is awesome, I loved how you could shoot so fast. Not many old games like this like you do that. You play as a wizard looking guy and shoot lightning to attack.

Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure 92

Yet again, side scrolling platform game heh. You play as a big frog looking guy with suction cup/plunger hands that allow you to climb walls.

Jazz Jackrabbit 94

A great side scrolling shooter where you play as a bandana wearing rabbit. I actually suggest giving this one a go if you're into these kind of games. Just about everything is great, the music, the sharp sprites, the game is just fun.

Jazz Jackrabbit 2 98

Not as much as an oldie as the other games, but this one really is superb. Any fan of 2D side scrollers is sure to love this under acknowledged game. You'll be surprised by it. I urge you to at least check out the video.

Secret Agent Sam 1-3 92

Another Apogee game, this one is pretty similar to the original Duke Nukem games.

Crystal Caves 91

Another Apogee side scroller here, you play as the purple miner guy.

Save our Pizzas (not sure of year)

This game is actually pretty bad, but I wanted to include it anyway haha.

Skunny Kart (not sure of year)

Even worse than the above game, but I remember playing it. It's a pretty terrible racing game that I'll be surprised if anyone can remember.

Catacomb Abyss 91

A very impressive FPS for it's time (came out before Wolfenstein and Doom) that I believe is mostly unheard of. I loved this game, you play as a mage type dude and shoot fireballs at the enemies. All the enemies have great design, as do the levels and textures. Could be worth checking out if you're into old PC FPS games.

Ladder Man 92

A puzzle game where you have to collect different items to get your sprite to different parts of the stage to advance. It's not a very bad game, and somehow managed to spawn sequels (put Ladder Man III in the pic).

Blake Stone 93

This one may not be obscure to many, but I think it's a lesser known MSDos fps. It takes place on a spaceship and has some fun weapons. The enemies were pretty neat, and overall it was a good game. It got a sequel too.

Winged Warrior 95

I almost forgot about this classic series, Winged Warrior is an old dos rpg. There are actually 3 of them, each a pretty decent improvement over the last one. The combat is turn based, and from what I can remember you're always alone. I'd love to hear from someone else that has played these games. The only footage of the game I could find is one of those strange "let's play" videos with the player narrating. But he has him playing through the first and the second one uploaded.

Wow, I feel old, because I played every single one of those. What a nostalgia hit! I absolutely adore all of those Apogee platformers, and even kind of miss that shareware model where you got the whole first episode for free, and then had to send away to receive the other episodes by snail mail.

All you do is land the shuttle, but a great effect with all the radio calls.
Flaps, speed brake, chutes, all there.

Across (Action Supercross) 97

This game has an interesting physics engine that makes navigating the terrain really fun.

Alien Carnage/Halloween Harry 94/93

This Apogee game had great graphics, gameplay, and the main character used a flamethrower and rocket pack.

Scorched Earth 91/93

My friends and I spent hours playing this game in elementary school. The range of weapons make this game incredibly fun.

The Amazing Spiderman 89

The puzzle solving in this game makes for a good challenge. I've never been able to beat it.

Scorched Earth 91/93

My friends and I spent hours playing this game in elementary school. The range of weapons make this game incredibly fun.

Scorched Earth with 5 or 6 players huddled around a 13 inch monitor and the rest of the 10 slots filled with random computer types was a riot.

There have been other 'artillery' type games since, but I still haven't found one as much fun as SE.

Ah the memories.

Running not DOS Box, but DOS 6.22 on a removable drive.
DIR/W/P tended to get redundent after a while, lazy me I use DOS Power Menu.
