little spare time but can't stop buying games

Post by alexis524 »

i'm sure this has been discussed, but just felt like expressing how much i love gaming and what now seems like collecting games. I do wish i had more time, but i'm always lurking on craigslist or ebay to see what i can add to my wishlist. My collection has grown exponentially in the last 2 months and am loving it. I've managed to pick up a famicom, super famicom, game gear and DS Lite for next to nothing so i can now build up those libraries. w00t!

I enjoy collecting games almost as much a playing them. Find great deals on game or obscure titles is always a blast. I even enjoy taking them apart and cleaning them. I used to have a massive backlog of games, but my lifestyle over the last year has finally given me a chance to catch up on my gaming.

I myself love finding games!

I doesnt help that on my way to my job theres a flea market. And its open every day!

I usually buy dvds and games, and Im at the point where I have most of the common games and now I must find the rarer stuff.

But its all good.

its still fun to find games, and who knows I may get lucky and find that awesome deal.

If you can pay your bills, then what does it matter what you spend your money on? I think the causal gamers I work with spend more (because they buy new systems) than me.

Yeah, finding good deals are always great, and if it isn't hurting your life, that's even better.

Being a game collector is a hobby. Hobbies cost money. Spending money on a game collection is the same to me as spending money on tickets to a ballgame, books, being an audiophile, or working on a car.

But for some reason, video games are rarely thought of as a healthy and reasonable hobby.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Well, think of it this way: Least you're not snorting coke. Game purchases harm nobody.

That's because traditionally home video games require sitting on your ass for long periods of time, drinking soda and swearing at the tv.

I agree.

..or buying hookers. Hookers and pimps aren't so healthy for you either.

My family suddenly got poor (medical bills), so I have finally started chipping away at my backlog
