Well, if you're willing to spend the time on it, you could always bend the pins back into shape. It's not that hard, and it's not as tedious as one would think. It's a semi permanent solution.
Since you already bought a pin connector, you could store that away and do the pin bending. When that eventually fails, you can replace it with the new one. That way, it extends the life of the new pin connector.
