Get some flux and better solder. Maybe a new iron that has temp control.

Flux should help with this. Make sure that you heat up the lead or contact before applying the solder.

Sounds like your pins have corroded, make sure you're soldering to a clean surface. Also, make sure you warm up the part that you are soldering to as well as the component you are soldering to the board, then touch the solder to the iron and it will flow to your parts. If it's still not stick then you need to make sure you're soldering at the right temperature. Don't try and move the solder with the iron, the solder should just move on it's own to the parts you want to solder. If you try and force it, that's when you get the gloopy mess that doesn't conduct.

You need to get a fiberglass pen.

Are you using Rosin/Flux core solder?
As Niode pointed out clean shiny surfaces a must, along with enough temperature. For just connecting wires a tinned iron should get the wires hot enough to melt solder directly to wires. But for electronic parts there is heat transfer damage issue, so flow from iron method is quicker. Maybe you could melt a little solder on the pad where the LED is being connected to first? That is if there is no alignment hole.

Re: Need Help Soldering LED to Ultra 64
well i couldnt solder the pins from the led to the points on the board, so i just put a lil solder on the points on the board and connect to a wire, and connected that wire to my led . it works but not stable. Now i got another issue after the installation the case now wont close tightly,... not sure whats the reason.
