I was looking into all the TMNT beat em ups and then it hit me.
Why has no one ever made a GI Joe beat em up!? Just replace all the Foot Clan members with Cobra troopers - throw in some BATs every once and a while. Big name bosses and you're all set. The player roster could be huge and how cool would it be to have a 6 person arcade cab like the old x-men arcade game?
What other series deserves a beat em up?

what about a spoof beat-em-up about Jersey shore?
or one about the "Fight Club" movie? that would be cool.
one on the new movie "Expandables" would be awesome. half beatemup and half contra?

I'd like to see a Beat 'Em Up based on Gunsmith Cats. Two girls with guns taking on all the scum and villainy in Chicago - seems perfect for a Beat 'Em Up set up. Plus you could punctuate the standard action with a high-speed chase, like some of the Batman games did.

Sad thing is, Konami did make a G.I. Joe game in '92. It was more of a Space Harrier clone though. Aside from Road Block, Shipwreck, Quick Kick(R.I.P. quite early on for the comic version) and the ninjas(I really like Larry Hama's face Storm Shadow...stupid animations...and probably that movie I'll never see), I don't know who else would really make a good beat em up character from the series.chupon wrote:I was looking into all the TMNT beat em ups and then it hit me.

Personally, I figured, unlike how Knuckle Bash failed to, something wrestling related(Not WWF/E, or any other company either, just fictional) could have led to a good evolution of the genre. With only 2 attack buttons, and a jump button at that. Imagine if each attack button alone during grapple did something, and then each button with each direction was a new move. Add to the fact that, like in Final Fight 3, the jump button makes you go behind your opponent, and you have just as many moves from there, and you'd have the 20 grapple moves in total. Without counting the combos, and other moves you might have with 2 attack buttons. That could have been achieved during the 4th(16-bit) generation. Hell, it could have been achieved on a 2 button controller from previous generations as well(the 2 buttons together = jump, like earlier beat em ups). Plus assaulting people with blunt melee weapons goes well with wrestling too.

How about a beat em up with Street Sharks, remember that old show? A fighting game with the characters from the Battle Royale manga would be interesting too.

A 2D Buffy beat'em up inspired by the Animated Buffy series that was never quite made it to tv
or the Season 8 comics
A Justice League Beat'em up, preferably based on Justice League Unlimited. Give me my 2D Batman! Batman Returns on the SNES was a great beat'em up, but it didn't really do Batman right. Batman isn't a brute force fighter who head buts people or picks up two guys at once by the neck and bashes their head together. The way he fought in that game didn't fit the character, he's a finesse fighter, one of the best martial artists in the DC universe
I want to play a 2D beat'em up with a tag team feature like in the Marvel vs Capcom fighters, where the sideline character can regenerate a certain amount of health.
A beat'em up based on Disney's Gargoyles. That would be sublime
And lastly, who wouldn't love to see a beat'em up designed by Capcom, Konami and Treasure? That would make people's head explode
EDIT: Question for the7k, I loved Gunsmith Cats, wouldn't it fit more for a shooter than a beat'em up though?

Shoot, you should see him in Justice League Task Force, Blizzard's DC fighting game for the SNES.Gamerforlife wrote:A Justice League Beat'em up, preferably based on Justice League Unlimited.
