So, like Vampire Savior then?

Capcom Fighting All-Stars (The 3D one that never got made) originally was going to have fatalities. Also, Darkstalkers and Red Earth had plenty of fatalities as well. Capcom is obviously not 'above' doing it, they just don't shower the place with such a ridiculous amount of blood. Not even Jedah seems as ridiculous, and he attacks with almost nothing but blood!

If the new MK does well, I can see it happening. Until then, MK is going to have a lot to prove before it can jump into bed with Capcom.

And I can think of about a thousand other brands, franchises and/or companies I'd rather see Capcom throw down against, personally.

Mortal Kombat interest is entirely western, even if Capcom cross over with something entirely Japanese, as they did with Tatsunoko, overseas fans will still jump on board. Japanese players don't seem to do that when it's the other way around, truth of it is a release like Street Fighter VS Mortal Kombat Would alienate all but a small minority of Japanese fans cutting out a good size chunk of the revenue a niche fighting game will generate... I'll never say never, but I won't hold my breath.

Just to not give up entirely on my point: some X-men characters are universally liked, but that doesn't really account for, say, Dormmamu in MvC3 (I'm just picking a name, I don't know how popular he is and honestly I had never heard of him before the game's trailers).

As Ack suggests, characters like Wolverine and Spiderman are universal, they've introduced the less well known stuff over the course of 6 separate games, MK has no where near the universal appeal of Marvel it's apples and oranges.

I think SF vs MK is like the most anticipated fighting game ever. I really hope they make it, and if they do, I'd prefer it be 2D (like the SF hd remix graphics) but I know they wouldn't do that.

I personally think the two engines and fighting styles would not mix in a great way. I am street fighter fan first and foremost and I would not like to see the cast mix with the dark world of mortal kombat. sure its a childhood debate and fantasy of a lot of us but i dont think i would be really appealed to the game like i would have 10-15 years ago.

i am 100x more excited for street fighter x tekken and tekken x street fighter!
