Cheap MP3 Player

My old back and white screened iPod Mini just died and I am looking for a new MP3 player, but I don't want to pay iPod prices.
I mainly used my iPod for when I would run outside and maybe for long trips. My car cd player reads MP3 Cds but if the MP3 player was big enough I would probably hook it up... so does anyone know where I could get a good quality/storage MP3 player for cheap?

I don't know what type of storage you are looking for but you can usually pick up the sansa fuze online for cheap. It is a nice player and it has a microSD slot so it can be upgraded to store as much as you like.

If you get lucky you will get a model that supports rockbox and then it is even nicer.

I have a SanDisk Sansa, I forget the model but it's one of the early ones. It's been great, battery seems to last forever. For example, I had it sitting for at least a year up until last Saturday. I wanted to use it for music at a party, so it charged for maybe a few minutes while I updated some of the music, but that's it. And I don't even think it had a full charge when I used it last. The battery lasted the entire day and night, about 10 hours. Then, still not charging it, I used it for 30 minutes or so each day for a few days until the battery finally died. I'm not sure if that's normal for mp3 players, but I wish all batteries lasted that long.

There's also custom firmware for it, along with many other model mp3 players.

Yeah, I loved my Sansa c250, but the headphone jack broke pretty quickly. My GF has an e250 and it's awesome. Both Rockboxable. Not only do they play MP3s(oggs, etc), but they have an FM receiver and voice recorder too.

I used to have a Sansa e250 as well, but the headphone jack flaked out. Now I have a Clip+ and I really like. It was cheap, takes sd cards, has great sound, decent battery life, and you can see the screen in daylight.

I'd suggest going to a bunch of pawn shops and finding an old 30gb ipod video and throwing the rockbox firmware on it.

This is what I use, it cost me $60 and thanks to rockbox I'm able to do all kinds of nifty things (like avoid using itunes to load songs onto it.)

Of course you can always skip the rockbox part and still get a great mp3 player cheap out of it.

You can upgrade that old mini with a Flash Card. That's what I did with mine. Bought a Mini that someone had put through the wash. I spent about 50-60 dollars putting a new mainboard, clickwheel, backlight and a 8 gig flash card in it.

I just looked it up and I have the e 250 is the one I have. What do you guys mean the head phone jack broke? Mine has never given me a problem, and that includes all the times I've used it at work. And I never got a case for it, I just use that little soft cover that came with it.
