If your gamestop carries N64 games it's already better than 99.9% of gamestops.
Maybe its a Canadian thing, eh.

Last time I checked there was about five N64 games and they were all sports games that no one would want for free, never mind pay 10+ dollars for. I should take a picture. Its pretty embarrassing.

I don't exaggerate prices very much. I can't remember the exact prices but they are hardly a huge exaggeration. They were also selling a copy of Odama for 54 dollars for some reason. I guess they think that because it comes with a microphone and its so weird that they can charge that much, looking past the fact that the game is pretty bad and four years old.

I like gamestop for the very reason many of you seem to dislike them. I'll pay 5 dollars or 10 dollars or even 1 dollar less for a used copy, as long as it performs the same way in my system. I have no interest in paying for the privilege of being the first one to play that copy.

I'd go as far to say that the view held IS that games cost to much when people are willing to pay 5 dollars less for a used copy.

several Gamestops in my area have New (not Used) copies of Mega Man Xtreme for GBC. It's so weird. Like multiple copies, in multiple stores. They're selling for $15. I'm tempted, but I'd be way more tempted if they were under $10.

The point is that you can visit just about any other place that sells used games (pawn shops and mom and pop places for example) and get a much, much better price.

Thats well and good if you have such places around you, but for many people its gamestop or a shipping charge.

That's bullshit. I don't like Game stop by any means but if they sell a game used there is no reason the industry should get more money. The music industry is having a hard time but you don't see them pulling stuff like this. I mean DMR is a lot different than this.

I find the opposite to be true, and even more so with older games.

I buy lots of ps2 games, and I find that the prices at gamestop are much cheaper than the prices on older ps2 games. I've even found games cheaper than the 3.99 amazon or ebay would charge me for shipping

Here's the way I see it...

Music cd's should be $4.99 brand new, and video games shouldn't be priced any higher than $39.99. With maybe "Limited Editions" being $49.99.

I'm also really tired of the music and game industry complaining about sales. We're in a recession. If you want to sell more cd's or games then lower your prices! I mean, just look at the PS3... after all the times they've lowered the prices, cut manufacturing costs and issued new model revisions... they're FINALLY starting to make a profit. Everyone should take notice. People are watching their money closer and so they're looking for better deals. Give them one or shut the fuck up!
