And then Nintendo went and put THIS out there.
It's nice to see Nintendo throwing so much weight behind Metroid.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Wait, what? Are they going to make a movie? I think that if they did, it could actually turn out decent.
Re: Okay, because I was only a little bit desperate for Metroid
No movie. It's just an incredible ad for Other M.

If they did make a movie, even if it sucked, it would make money just because Samus Aran is hot.Flake wrote:No movie. It's just an incredible ad for Other M.

Very cool ad.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

Samus is hot. ANYWAY...
After seeing that, I really want a Metroid Movie.

I would like to trade bodies with Samusu Aran. Amazing for a movie.

Re: Okay, because I was only a little bit desperate for Metroid
I'm not yet sure how I feel about Other M.
On one hand, I seem to prefer the random Metroid games, with part II and Fusion being my favorites. And while I played and own Prime 1-3 and Hunters, I didn't complete them all and I don't like the Prime series as much as I like the original 2D Metroid-vania style games. A whole Metroid game in first person view is fine, but Other M having both 2D and first person, is something I'm not 100% sold on yet. Also, the story and cutscenes seem interesting, but I'm concerned it might seem forced or even break up the action/exploring elements (which is something, as much as I absolutely love the series overall, bothers me about the Metal Gear Solid games).
On the other hand, I'm always excited about anything Metroid (or Nintendo for that matter) and so I'm excited to see the awesome action clips and that Samus looks great-graphics wise. I've read that Ridley is in there too, which is really cool. And the NES control scheme is a absolutely great idea in theory, so I really hope it plays well.
We'll see, I guess. In the end, I'm sure I'll break down and buy it on launch day.

One of the Japanese commercials emphasizes the similarities between this game and Famicom's:
Might be more assuring for people still on the fence about picking it up.
