Watched an old episode of Babylon 5 the other day and realized that this question actually fascinates me. Scientifically speaking.

Bonus question: Do you put your socks on first or do pants get the priority?

fasten the fly first, then zip.... Pants on first before socks every time, feels silly otherwise, and everything else after underwear goes on in whatever order, doesn't matter.

I do it like this:

First the fly gets fastened, and then zipped. The other way has proven to be potentially dangerous...

Underwear>pants>shirt>socks

Although now that I think about it, socks going after underpants would make life easier when wearing jeans. Shoes come off upon entering the house, and I change my socks at least twice a day.

I alternate the fastening and the buttoning.

I usually put a shirt on first (and always do this if it is one that I'll be tucking in).

Boxers, 1 sock, pants or shorts, the other sock, and then shirt. And depending on how tired I am, I alternate which sock (L or R) goes on first. BTW, I am not a morning person.at.all.

Sometimes though it's boxers>socks>pants>shirt or boxers>pants>shirt>socks. I can be kind of a random person sometimes

If I'm going to work: home made boxers, then socks, shirt, pants, shoes, tie, and sometimes cufflinks.

How I roll.

Regular clothes:

Boxers, pants (button first, then belt, then zipper), then shirt. Socks only when I put shoes on.

If dressing nice:

Boxers, socks, undershirt, nice shirt, tie, pants (button first, then belt, then zipper), shoes, jacket.

I have a pretty specific routine in dressing.

First, I put on underwear.
Next, I put on socks.
Third, I put on my watch.
Fourth, I put on my undershirt.
Fifth, I put on my pants, tucking in my undershirt in the process.
Sixth, I put my belt on.
Seventh, I put everything I need in my pockets (keys on my right back belt loop [tucked into respective back pocket], cell phone in right pocket, wallet in right back pocket, graphing calculator in left pocket, optional Nintendo DS in case hanging from my right front belt loop via caribiner on case [tucked into respective pocket], pens/pencils in right pocket with my cell phone, misc. items in cargo pockets)
Eighth, I put on my shoes.

From this point I brush my teeth, eat breakfast, etc. (before I put on my final shirt in case I get toothpaste, etc. on my shirt)

Then, finally, I put on whatever shirt I'm wearing over my undershirt.
