Ive only played it with my EX2 as the 360 d-pad sucks so much - I didnt know you could play it with analogue stick (which I preume you're talking about) - so it's works well does it?
yes you can use the analog stick and its flawless in my opinion... its like playing geometry wars evolved on xbla... it just feels right. also the rumble from the 360 really gives the game some awesome force feedback, which happens at all the right moments.

I must give it a go - as if I'm feeling especially lazy it will be way easier to start playing than having to connect my EX2 into the USB port :p

The US NTSC version of Ikaruga runs at 60hz/fps and does not stutter at all. It also supports 480p component video which creates an incredibly crisp picture on a good HDTV, its every bit as good as VGA or RGB/SCART. When using composite cables, many GC games employ a flicker filter that give them a bit softer look (not bad just a bit) than DC or PS2. Hook up component Y/Pb/Pr and running 480p though and it is razor sharp. The US GC version is what I have and its stunning in 480p, and doesnt stutter or slowdown at all.

Same here. I've never played it in the arcade (AKA smoke-filled traps) and the DC version would have been fine but I really don't like the d-pad on the DC's controller (pointy edges).

I still need to print up some custom artwork/cover for it. The standard US cover is really crappy with all those magazine quotes etc.

However a Dreamcast or Xbox 360 hooked in a Arcade cab is sufficient.

Ill break it down like this

Xbox 360: Best graphics , Online play , CHEAP
Gamecube: Blurred graphics, Only USA physical release
Dreamcast: ARCADE PERFECT, Japan ONLY, EXPENSIVE , no ANALOG

I like playing my Dreamcast version in the Arcade cabinet the best.

Jealousy is too soft a word for what Im feeling right now :p

how much did it cost you to make that very cab in total?

I have a European release of Gamecube Ikaruga btw
The arcade Cabinet was about $1200 shipped 4 years ago.

Console to Arcade adapter was about $200 in parts . Throw in the Japanese Dreamcast and Ikaruga for another $150

About $1600 dollars total with shipping and taxes.
$1,600 to play one game... That is the definition of dedication right there.

Dreamcast version here. No analog control is actually a great plus!
Arcade digital stick only way to play anyways, easy as Black and White.

Japhei, love your setup!
That two player arcade controller can easily be modded to work as a twinstick.

I did a simple mod to my BlazeTwin Shock here:

Works great for Virtua On, Robotron, Smash TV among others.

Huh? I musta missed that. (Thread for that??)

If he is, why doesn't his account say banned? I've seen on many forums that if you're banned it'll say so under the screen name.

I believe what happened was that he was allowed to remain a member of this site as long as he refrained from using the Marketplace even though it was known that he is a scammer. Then he made a sales thread.

This link provides lots of information...

As for a link to the thread about it here I dunno.
