Need Help With Old TV Series

Hey guys. I have been searching the internet everywhere for the name of a show I remember when I was younger. It was a fictional TV series about football players. I think the team was in Los Angeles or Miami. I believe it was the late 80's and/or early 90's. If I remember correctly it was on USA network but I don't know this for a fact. I don't remember much else about it but I was hoping someone might know the name of this show.

1st & 10? It was an early HBO show. The Sopranos it wasn't.

Was it attack of tomatoes, I do remember a basketball team cartoon the globetrotters

It was not animated. I know it wasn't attack of the tomatoes.
