Niode , I like your reply
yet still cell-phones are pretty expensive for reasons I don't understand.

For the price of iPhone(android or blackberry), I can get a decent 37(maybe even 42 inch) HDTV, thats so much more hardware than the tiny iphone, not to mention shipping costs and packaging, which is always expensive(compare cell phone shipping to tv shipping price)

this is not a cell phone thing only, even pc monitors. Some 24 inch pc monitors are more expensive than full HDTV tv at 37 or 42 inch, look at this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6824176104

doesn't that make you wonder how the pricing system works?!

I completely agree. Mobile phones are expensive. There's no getting around that fact. The reason they are artificially inflated (in my opinion) is that the subsidised cost of mobile phones wouldn't make sense if it was cheaper to just buy the handset outright. They make the phones seem more expensive to tie you into 12/18/24 month contracts. If you're paying nothing for the phone and £30 a month for the line rental that makes the 'cost' of the phone £540 over the length of the contract not taking into consideration the value of the minutes and SMS inclusive monthly allowance. If the handset was cheaper than £540, people would just buy the handset instead of a contract. Sadly there's nothing you can do about it, the providers are going to keep doing it simply because they can. Let's face it, what choice do you have?

String and 2 cans.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.
